Nederveen rebounded from an opening round loss in the ‘A’ division to record consecutive wins at the consolation level at the recent event. There, she was forced to battle through five sets to get the best of Waterloo’s Marisa Seth (5-11, 3-11, 11-8, 11-1, 11-8) and Toronto’s Alexis Twiddy (11-6, 5-11, 11-4, 13-15, 11-9).

McMaster’s second representative in the ‘A’ division, Chantal Diniz, advanced to the semi-final round with a five-set win against Twiddy (9-11, 6-11, 11-9, 11-2, 11-5) before losing to Laurier’s Krista Haddy in a sweep.

Meanwhile, Pittiglio dominated the ‘C’ division to win all five matches that she played over the course of three days to post a 15-3 record in 18 games. The fourth-year Marauder swept three consecutive matches, against Toronto’s Jessy Khalife (11-7, 11-5, 11-4) and Sarah Teixeira (12-10, 11-8, 11-3) and teammate Maureen Fitzpatrick (11-3, 11-9, 11-5).

She followed with a four-game victory over Waterloo’s Hannah Dabrowski (11-8, 6-11, 11-6, 11-7), and sealed a five-game win against Toronto’s Cristina Chow (12-10, 12-10, 9-11, 8-11, 12-10).
