Mountaineers dropped to Bronze round in volleyball


MohawkThe Mohawk Mountaineers lost 3-0 to host Briercrest Clippers in the semi-finals of the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association Men’s Volleyball Championship in Moose Jaw Saskatchewan on Friday night (March 7).

The scores were 25-22, 25-14, 25-12 for the Clippers, who will meet top seeded Red Deer in the gold medal match Saturday night.

Eric Danecke was Mohawk’s player of the match.

The Mountaineers will now concentrate on the bronze medal.

They play fellow Ontario Colleges Athletic Association rival Humber in a bronze semi-final match Saturday at 1 p.m. Eastern Time. The other bronze semi will pit Douglas College against Columbia Bible College. The winners of those two games will then meet for the bronze medal at 7 p.m. Eastern Time.
