The International Hot Rod Association (IHRA), established in 1970, is the 2nd largest drag racing sanctioning body in the world. The IHRA's first major event in Canada was a one-off in 1992 at Cayuga, Ontario but it wasn't until later in the decade that Canadian events became the regular fixtures they are today. The 5th annual IHRA Canadian Nationals take place at Toronto Motorsports Park in Cayuga from September 23 - 24, 2006.
