Hamilton’s Mosquitos chase away opponents for title

The Hamilton Cardinals Major Mosquitos turned a five-game undefeated run into a championship finish on the June 15-16 weekend.

Playing Cambridge, two ties and three wins made the Cards the Toyota Tyke Baseball Tournament champions.

Hamilton tied Vaughan, 7-7, then had a 19-19 standoff against Scarborough before getting its three victories. Mississauga fell, 12-4, and Cambridge lost 5-4 in an extra inning to set up a re-match with Vaughan.

The Cards had a much easier time against Vaughan this time, posting a 6-2 title taking tilt.

Team members include Carter Thomson, Thomas Matsell, Jordan Clinch, Liam Bistoyong, McKay Hayes, Ethan Cane, Nathan Gillis, Malcolm McLeod, Matt Rosser, Kristopher Hazzard, Harrison Farrugia, and Sawyer Smith.
