Hall of fame honours for figure skaters Strong, Knight Hamilton's Marijane Strong and Donald Knight of Dundas will be inducted into Skate Canada's Hall of Fame. They will be honoured along with the late Jim Proudfoot and George Gross.
Local skaters perform well at Nationals The 2008 BMO Skate Canada Junior Nationals took place Jan. 30 - Feb. 2 in Ottawa. A number of skaters represented clubs from the greater Hamilton/Burlington area at this event, several placing in the top ten.
NEXXICE flashes golden blades at international meet The NEXXICE Senior Figure Skating team, representing the Burlington Skating Club and the Kitchener-Waterloo SC, walked away with the gold medal after attaining a score of 183.62 points at the Spring Cup 2008.
Davison, Dubé, earn silver at Canadian figure skating championships Bryce Davison, who represents the Hamilton Skating Club with partner Jessica Dubé, finished second in Senior Pairs with a score of 174.86, just .15 shy of the gold-medal winning total at the 2008 BMO Canadian Figure Skating Championships in Vancouver.
