The 2010 BMO Skate Canada Synchronized Skating Championships were held March 4 – 6, 2010 in Brampton.
Representing the Burlington and Kitchener-Waterloo Skating Clubs, the Senior NEXXICE team placed first with 222.84 points. Representing the Burlington SC, NEXXICE Junior and Open teams also placed first with 172.74points and 119.24 points respectively.
In Novice, Burlington SC’s Ice Image team placed second with an overall point total of 85.04, having posted the highest score in the second free program and were only .10 away from winning the Gold medal.

Hamilton defeated the Hartford Wolf Pack 3-2 in a shootout on Saturday night – the Bulldogs second shootout win in as many nights – at Copps Coliseum. With the win, the ‘Dogs are now on a season-high eight game winning streak in American Hockey League play.

Ted Ranger and Steve Smith are the recent kings of the hill. They topped area tenpin bowlers with Ranger firing a 300 and Smith bringing home 298 and 290 trophies.
Ranger was perfect for the first time at Skyway Lanes in game one, then dealt 243 and 214 for a 757 triple. Smith, after grooving a 290 and 786 (269, 290, 227), followed it shortly after with a 298 and 746 (298, 245, 203) triple at Splitsville.

Forward Alex Reis of the Mohawk Mountaineers has been named to the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association West Region All-Rookie Basketball team.
The first-year Business Foundations student and graduate of Hamilton’s Cathedral High School, was an integral part of a Mohawk side which was 3-5 in November, but turned things around dramatically to finish 11-7 to make the playoffs in the men’s division.

The Hamilton Bulldogs defeated the Adirondack Phantoms 4-1 on Wednesday night at Copps Coliseum. J.T. Wyman recorded a hat-trick for the ‘Dogs while Cedrick Desjardins made 25 saves in the win, Hamilton’s sixth straight in the American Hockey League.
Hamilton got on the scoreboard first at 16:54 of the opening period. P.K. Subban received the puck from Ryan White before firing a shot towards the net. While positioned in front of the net, Wyman redirected the shot past the glove of Adirondack goaltender Johan Backlund.
