HOC athletes back on track
The Hamilton Olympic Club Power/Speed group returned to action on the track on Feb. 17 with multi-event athlete Kelly Morrison leading the charge for the Sprinters. Morrison posted a time of 9.89s for a sixth place finish overall.

Klodnicki, Morrison garner medals for HOC athletes
After the first day of competition at the 2008 Youth/Senior Provincial Championships, Katie Klodnicki leads the medal charge with two gold-medal performances for the Hamilton Olympic Club.

Katie Klodnicki and Alyssa DiCesare carried the colours of the Hamilton Olympic Club in the Feb. 9 Indoor Prospect Series Meet #3 staged at the University of Western Ontario in London.

Hamilton Olympic Club athletes were back on track this past weekend with a couple of promising debuts from newcomers Simone Mallett and Katie Klodnicki. Mallett posted 8.37 seconds in the 60 metre event; Klodnicki finished sixth in shot put.

The Hamilton Olympic Club's Kelly Morrison took second place in the open ladies 60 metre hurdles event of the Toronto Nike Classic held at the University of Toronto on the Jan 18-19 weekend.

Canadian Cross Country race in Hamilton runner's sights
Hamilton's Reid Coolsaet goes into the Dec. 1 Canadian Cross Country Championships as a strong contender for the senior title. Coolsaet, who trains in Guelph, will have home field advantage - the event is being staged at the University of Guelph.

Andrews 'puts' her mark on Canada's Junior Pan Am team
Two-time Canadian shot put champion Kaitlyn Andrews is headed to this year's Pan American Junior track and field championships. The 19-year-old Georgetown resident was named to Canada's team by Athletics Canada on Thursday.

Grimsby runner selected for Canada's World Youth meet team
Grimsby's Esther Vermeer has been named to Canada's team which will compete in the 5th World Youth Championships. Vermeer, a member of the Niagara Olympic Club and coached by Stuart Galloway, will compete in the 800m event.

Njoroge places sixth at 2007 ING Ottawa Marathon
Long distance Kenyan runner Simon Njoroge, based in Hamilton, placed sixth in the men's division of the ING Ottawa Marathon on Sunday, May 27. Njoroge completed the course in 2:11.14 which placed him third in the Men's 25-29 bracket.

HOC runners bring home two firsts from Windsor meet
Athletes from the Hamilton Olympic Club had more than competitors to battle at the recent University of Windsor Open Track and Field Meet. Wind and cold challenged the field but the HOC brought home two firsts.
