DUISBURG, Germany- Gold and more gold for Oakville’s Adam van Koeverden. On Saturday, the Olympic champion picked up his another gold medal in his second straight World Cup paddling competition with a win in the men’s K-1 (kayak singles) 500-metre race.
He was timed in 1:38.797 with Carlos Perez Rial of Spain second in 1:39.633 and Zoltan Benko of Hungary third in 1:39.645. Two weeks ago, Van Koeverden won the 500-metre race at the World Cup season opener in Poland.
Burlington’s Mark Oldershaw was sixth in the men’s C-1
