Welcome to HamiltonScores, a web site devoted exclusively to sport and athletes in and from Hamilton, Ontario – and the surrounding Golden Horseshoe area.
Founded and independently operated since 2006, our mission is to recognize the achievements of the many amateur athletes and sports that, in our opinion, aren’t given the coverage they deserve by traditional, local media outlets.
All of our news for the web site comes from contributions of sport coaches, managers, leaders and enthusiasts in the Hamilton area. We do not “lift” stories from other media organizations in the area or from wire services.
Hamilton Scores is not associated with the City of Hamilton, Metroland Media, The Hamilton Spectator, CBC Hamilton, TSN 1150, Hamilton Today or any other local media, sports team or organization.
We try to represent anyone who sends us a sport related story, whether it be a list of results or a press release. And if we don’t cover it, it’s either because no one told us about it (which happens often) or not enough information was available.
If you have something to contribute; a team profile, event, tryout or scores; please see our contact page and let us know.
We’re proud of Hamilton and it’s athletes; we’re thrilled to be able to share stories from our highly skilled and diverse community with you and the world.

Denis has been involved in the local sports scene for many years, as a former reporter and sports editor with The Hamilton Spectator. He likes to consider himself an athlete, participating in local baseball and curling leagues. But generally, it’s much better if his athletic achievements remain lost in media coverage. Denis reviews and edits each story received before it is published.
Sean operates Healix Computing Solutions, an IT consulting and services company based in Hamilton. He is responsible for maintaining the web site, and also acts as assistant editor – specifically when Denis is away on assignment. Besides posting the stories, Sean maintains the submitted photos, monitors the @HamiltonScores Twitter feed… and maintains the minimal ads, which cover a random, annual staff meal.
