Calling all card flippers. You’ve had a whole year to perfect any flaws that may have stood in your way to winning last year’s first Closest to the Wall Card Flipping Contest.
On Sunday (June 25), as part of the Thunderbirds senior Intercounty Baseball League game at Bernie Arbour Stadium, the flippin’ competition is back.
Registration for the contest begins at noon and the athletes start the tossin’ and flippin’ at 1 p.m. Registration fee is a food bank donation and that gets an entrant 10 cards. Additional 10-card packs can be bought for a $2 donation to a charity of choice of the Thunderbirds baseball clubs.
On Sunday, the T-Birds will play the Barrie Baycats. The game starts at 2.05 p.m. Leading up to Sunday’s game are a game Friday night at Bernie Arbour, against the Kitchener Panthers, and a 2 p.m. double header in Oshawa against the Dodgers.
