Onward and upward for Frank Dancevic. The Niagara Falls (Ontario) tennis player is now ranked 83rd in the Association of Tennis Professionals world-wide rankings. Dancevic, 22, first broke the top 100 barrier on July 31 when he was ranked 96th.
His recent jump came after competing on the indoor hard courts at the Stockholm Open last week. Dancevic, who turned professional three years ago, advanced to the second round with a 6-4, 6-1 win over Guillermo Garcia-Lopez of Spain. He then fell to No. 7 seed and No. 33 ATP ranked Kristof Vliegen of Belgium, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4.
Dancevic has a pro career record of 16-29 in singles play and is 5-10 in doubles competition. This years he is 7-10 in singles and 2-2 in doubles. He has collected $348,502 in career earnings with $134,415 this year.
