Mountaineers off to national men’s volleyball finals

The Mohawk Mountaineers missed a second straight Ontario Colleges Athletic Association men’s volleyball title, but their loss to Algonquin College this past weekend was not the end of the road after all.

Mohawk has been awarded one of two wild cards for the Canadian Colleges Athletic Association championship in Nanaimo, B.C. on March 8-10. The Mountaineers are seeded sixth in the eight team event.

Edmonton’s MacEwan College also received a wild card.
Competing in the national final, in the order of seeding are:

(1) Red Deer College Kings, Red Deer, Alberta; (2) Cegep Limoilou Titans, Quebec City; (3) Malaspina University-College Mariners, Nanaimo; (4) MacEwan College Griffins; (5) Algonquin College Thunder, Ottawa; (6) Mohawk College; (7) University-College of the Fraser Valley Cascades, Abbotsford, B.C.; (8) University of Kings College Blue Devils, Halifax, Nova Scotia.
