For the second time in succession, Mohawk College has won an Ontario Colleges Athletic Association honour.
Adam Bond has been named OCAA Male Athlete of the Week. The rookie striker, from Hamilton’s St. Jean de Brebeuf High School, made a sensational debut for the men’s soccer team. He scored a hat trick that accounted for all of the game’s goals in a 3-0 Mountaineers’ win over the Sheridan Bruins in Oakville on Sept. 18.
Mohawk head coach Richard Bennett describes Bond as “the type of naturally talented athlete who comes along every so often, very coachable and well mannered.” He said Bond is a well balanced player who works hard.
Last week Mohawk’s star fastball hurler, Jenny Koschanow, was the OCAA Female Athlete of the Week after no-hitting Cambrian.
