Junior football Hurricanes ready to open Hall of Fame doors

Four new members will join the Hamilton Hurricanes Hall of fame on Friday.

The Ontario Junior Football Club (OJFL) will induct retired Hamilton Spectator sportswriter Don Lovegrove and former head coach Doug Trimble (1992-94) into the builder’s category while former players Roger Dunbrack and Nigel Williams will enter the players’ category.

The Dundas-born Dunrack’s 11-season Canadian Football League career included stints with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Ottawa Renegades, and the Toronto Argonauts. The defensive lineman played for the Hurricanes during the 1992 and ’93 seasons.

Williams, a Hurricane in 1991 and ’92, also had an 11-year CFL career.

The inductions will take place on Friday night (June 6) at the Hurricanes Gala Dinner. Ticket information for the night can be found at www.hamiltonhurricanes.ca
