Mohawk quartet named OCAA soccer all-stars


Four Mohawk soccer players – two men and two women – have made the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association’s West/Central West Regional All-Star Teams.

Rookie Hassan Hamed and second year Mountaineer Sirwan Irandost were selected to the men’s team. Hamed, from St. Joan of Arc in Mississauga, scored eight goals and Irandost, the second year Architecture student from Niagara Falls Westlane notched four.

Kelsey Forbes, a second-year Practical Nursing student from Burlington Robert Bateman, who had a goal this season and Zalona Caruso, a first-year advertising student from St. Mary’s in Sault Ste. Marie, were named to the women’s select squad.
