Mac rugby recruits arrive with impressive credentials

McMaster Marauders have reason to be excited about its 2009 men’s rugby recruiting class, describing it as the best since 2002. The class features four national team program players, three provincial team players and an invited member of the prestigious UK based Saracens Academy.

The eight recruits introduced are: Tyler Ardron (Lakefield, ON), Jon Collins (Madawaska, ON), Ryan Fried (New Hamburg, ON), Jarrett Hamilton (Guelph, ON), Craig Leveridge (Oakville), Davor Stojanov (Stoney Creek), Lawson Mann (Markham, ON), and Matt Raguseo (Stouffville, ON).

McMaster head coach, Dr. Phil White indicated that the 2009 rugby recruit class is the strongest since the 2002 group that included three players (brothers Dan and Mike Pletch and Aaron Carpenter) who would go on to represent Canada at the 2007 Rugby World Cup.
