Mohawk men hold onto third place in OCAA soccer

Mohawk men’s soccer team played the Fanshawe Falcons to a 2-2 stalemate in Ontario Colleges Athletic Association play.

Hassan Hamed scored his sixth goal of the season and Michael Vitaterna notched his first for the Mountaineers. Mohawk’s record is now 3-1-2 for 11 points. They are in third place In the Central West Region standings, one point behind Oakville’s Sheridan Bruins. Humber leads the division with 15 points.

Meantime, the Mohawk women lost 3-0 to Fanshawe and fell to 1-5.

Both Mohawk teams swing back into action on Tuesday (Sep. 29) when the Niagara Knights visit Mohawk Sports Park at 4:30 p.m.
