The Hamilton Bulldogs defeated the Binghamton Senators 1-0 at Scotiabank Place in Ottawa. Cedrick Desjardins posted the shutout while Sergei Kostitsyn scored the game’s lone goal in the American Hockey League contest.
Desjardins and Binghamton netminder Mike Brodeur stopped all shots they faced through the first two periods. Desjardins made 20 saves while Brodeur stopped all 29 ‘Dogs shots. In the third period, Brodeur also stopped Ryan Russell’s shorthanded breakaway.
Kostitsyn scored the lone goal at 8:48 of the final frame. Mathieu Darche collected the puck behind the net before feeding a pass to Kostitsyn, who was positioned in front of the net. Kostitsyn one-timed a shot that beat Brodeur through the legs.
