Bulldogs, Moose set to open playoff round

The Hamilton Bulldogs will meet the Manitoba Moose in the American Hockey League’s North Division semi-final playoffs leading to the Calder Cup.

The Bulldogs are the division and Western Conference regular season champions which earns them home-ice advantage through the first three rounds of the 2010 playoffs. The Moose will finish the regular season in fourth place in the North Division.

The best-of-seven series begins in Hamilton for Games 1 and 2 (Thursday and Saturday, April 15 and 16) before heading to Winnipeg for Games 3 to 5 and then return to Capps Coliseum for Games 6 and 7, if necessary. This will be the first time the teams have played each other in the opening round but the third time the clubs have met in the Calder Cup playoffs. They met in the 2003 Eastern Conference semi-final and the 2007 North Division final, where the Bulldogs beat the Moose on both occasions.

Hamilton finished the 2009-2010 regular season with a record of 4-3-1-0 against Manitoba.
