The Hamilton Bulldogs will meet the Texas Stars in American Hockey League’s Western Conference final series.
The best-of-seven playoff gets underway on Friday (May 14) at Copps Coliseum with a 7:30 p.m. faceoff. Game 2 at Copps is set for 2 p.m. Sunday. The series will resume in the suburban Austin town of Cedar Park, Texas for three games, Wednesday, May 19, Friday, May 21, and Saturday, May 22 (if necessary).
Should the playoff be sent back to Hamilton for Games 6 and 7 they will be played on Monday, May 24, and Wednesday, May 26.
The Bulldogs defeated the Manitoba Moose in six games in their best-of-seven North Division semi-finals series before winning the North Division finals series 4-2 over the Abbotsford Heat.
The Texas Stars defeated the Rockford IceHogs in four games in their best-of-seven West Division semi-finals and the Chicago Wolves in seven games in their best-of-seven West Division playoff.
Hamilton has home-ice advantage because the ‘Dogs were the North Division and Western Conference regular season champions. The Stars finished regular season play in second place in the West Division with a record of 46-27-3-4 while Hamilton had a 1-1-0-0 record against Texas in the regular season.
This will be the first time the clubs have met in the post-season as it is Texas’ first year in the league.
