Cards swing mighty bats in 15-4 win

After a dominating 15-4 win over the Guelph Royals, the Minor Mosquito Hamilton Cardinals Tier 2 Intercounty Baseball League team is off to an early season 2-0 record.

Scoring six runs in the bottom of the first inning, the Cards took care of business. Mitchell Snow pitched 2 1/3 innings giving up two runs. Kyle Samson, Devon Daigle and Zach Wright followed him on the mound.

Michael Wheaton again had a strong evening at the plate with a two-run double and Kamryn Bain also had two runs batted in.

Jack Morin went two-for-two on the evening. Stellar defense kept the Royals off the base paths as well as a 12-strikeout performance by the four pitchers.

Next home action for the Tier 2 Cardinals is Victoria Day as the Kitchener Panthers come into town. First pitch at T.B. McQuesten Park is 6 p.m.
