With a constant drizzle, starting Cardinal pitcher Marlon Krupa pitched three solid innings allowing two hits, two walks, five strikeouts and one run as Hamilton routed Stratford 15-1 in recent Intercounty Baseball play.
The Cardinal defense looked to be in mid-season form, providing strong support for Card pitchers after the Stratford visitors scored their lone run for a brief 1-0 lead.
Krupa drew a walk in the second and promptly stole all the bases, including home to tie the score. Owen Angus-Yamada relieved Krupa in the bottom of the fourth. He and the Card defense would not allow another Indian run. With aggressive base running, solid hitting and Indian errors, the Cards would get 14 more runners to cross the plate.
RBI singles would go to Hayden Bailley, Justin O’Reilly, Michael Singh and Braden Johnson. Grant Preece and Ty Porter would each get two RBI and Nick Ott would record three.
