There was no shortage of hits, with the London Majors pounding out 15 and the Hamilton Thunderbirds contributing 11 in their senior Intercounty Baseball League game Friday night at Bernie Arbour Stadium.
When the dust had settled the visiting Majors left with a 10-6 victory to snap a three-game losing streak while the T-Birds recorded their third straight setback. Te win left with Majors with a 9-10 record while the league’s doormats dropped to 3-14.
Matt Fortuna paced the Thunderbirds 11-hit attack by going 3-for-4 with two singles and a double, along with a walk.
Chris Chambers had a two-run homer in the first inning and Cleveland Brownlee added a solo shot in the eighth for the Majors.
The teams were tied 2-2 after two innings of play and the Majors found themselves leading 4-2 going into the eighth inning when they scored five runs. Hamilton promptly replied in its half of the inning with four runs.
London added a final run in the ninth inning.
Craig Bate got the win, going seven innings. He allowed two runs on five hits over seven innings. David Hucsko allowed three runs on five hits and was the loser.
