Elite ball tourney attracts 20 teams to Hamilton

The Can Am International Elite Baseball Tournament in Hamilton next weekend will feature some of the finest elite baseball teams from across North America

The tournament of two age divisions of 16 and 18-year old players will begin on Thursday evening (July 8) at Bernie Arbour Memorial Stadium with other games taking place in the Heritage Sports Complex in upper Stoney Creek and the Mohawk Sports Complex on Hamilton Mountain.

Games continue throughout the weekend at all diamond locations with the championship games being played on Sunday in Bernie Arbour at Upper Kenilworth Street at Mohawk Road East in Hamilton.

Saturday will feature a home run hitting contest as well as a base running speed contest during the welcoming ceremonies scheduled to take place at noon in Bernie Arbour. Each of the 20 teams in the tournament will send their best hitters and base runners into these two events.
