The Ancaster Cardinals are playing for the 2010 Canadian Little League Championship. The host-team Cardinals defeated Calgary (representing Alberta) on Friday with a 8-2 final to advance.
Earlier in the day, Little Mountain continued their winning streak with a 7-1 victory over Windsor (representing Ontario). The strong team from British Columbia has not lost a game in the championship tournament.
The Little League final will take place tomorrow (Saturday) at Little League Park on Jerseyville Road. The winning team will leave on Monday for Williamsport to represent Canada in the 2010 Little League World Series.
The Cardinals are asking fans to bring noisemakers, drums, horns and anything else that makes noise to cheer them on. And to join the Red Army by wearing something red.
Admission to the park is free. Parking is available at the Morgan Firestone Community Centre and shuttle buses are available, but fans are being reminded to come early.
Don Cherry will be at the park to throw out the first pitch prior to the championship game. The finale will also be televised on Cable 14 on tape delay Saturday starting at 6 p.m.
