The Hamilton Cardinals Minor Mosquitos are this season’s Intercounty Baseball Association champions.

The Cards captured the ICBA title with a come from behind 7-5 victory over the Waterloo Tigers in a tournament format finale to the league’s season this past weekend. Hamilton trailed 5-1 in the game before rallying for six runs in the bottom of the sixth for the win.

In the weekend affair, Hamilton was handed its first loss against an ICBA opponent as the Tigers defeated the Cardinals 5-3 in an earlier tournament match. Hamilton advanced to the finals by defeating the Kitchener Panthers 13-9 and the Guelph Royals 12-2 and 13-1.

The Minor Mosquito now go after the Ontario Baseball Association crown in Mississauga this weekend.

The Hamilton Cardinals will be conducting tryouts following the provincial final in all age categories from Rookie ball to Midget. Dates, locations and additional information can be found at the website www.hamiltoncardinals.ca.
