The McMaster Marauder’s men’s rugby team picked up its third convincing win of the season, more than doubling (41-20) the University of Waterloo on CIF Field in Waterloo.
Chris Dickenson (Oakville) led the Marauder attack with two tries and 10 points in the Ontario University Athletics contest. Second-year Kinesiology student Michael Paris (Barrie) followed with nine points from one try and two conversions. Ryan Fried (New Hamburg, Ont.), Tyler Ardron (Lakefield, Ont.), John Williams (Stoney Creek) and Joel Fox (Etobicoke) also muscled their way over the try line once each for McMaster while Andrew Ferguson (Mississauga) slotted a conversion for the final two points.
For the opposition, third-year centre Richard Lebel (Waterloo) scored his fourth and fifth tries of the season while Zach Bodgon (Cambridge) and Ben Vandenberg (Centreville, Ont.) split the remaining ten points.
The undefeated Marauders travel to St. Catharines on Saturday, Sept. 25 to face league-leading scorer Samuel Rimmer (Cheltenham, Ont.) and the rest of the Brock Badgers at 3 p.m.
