Bruins cement soccer playoff spot

The Oakville Sheridan Bruins improved to 5-0-1 in Ontario Colleges Athletic Association regular season soccer play with a pair of victories at home this past weekend.

Sheridan defeated Sarnia Lambton 6-0 on Saturday and followed up with a 2-0 win over Windsor St. Clair on Sunday.

Delon Solomon (Brampton) scored a pair of goals against Lambton. Also contributing on offence were Luc Dec (Poland), Cameo Ellis (Mississauga), Bismark Marni (Brampton) and Jordan Messam (Brampton).

Marco Colangelo (Mississauga) and Donald Love (Mississauga) scored against Lambton.

Sheridan has clinched a playoff spot and currently leads the West Division standings with two big games against Fanshawe and Humber on the horizon.

At Welland, the host Niagara Knights ended a four-game losing streak with a 3-1 win over Kitchener Conestoga on Saturday.

Jordan Arnott (London), Othman Sarzali (St. Catharines) and Phil Boucher (Niagara Falls) all scored for Niagara. Shane Lowry (Kitchener) scored Conestoga’s lone goal.

Niagara (3-4-0) leads Conestoga (1-2-3) by three points in the standings. Conestoga is two points out of a playoff spot with two games remaining.
