Mohawk Raise Funds for Cancer Research

Mohawk College staged its Beat Cancer Pink and Blue Cancer Awareness Day – only they did it over two days.

On Nov. 17 and 18, the Athletic Department asked for donations at the door during Ontario Colleges Athletic Association games against Humber College. Nov. 17 was for volleyball, while the basketball teams got together the next evening.

The Athletic Department sold pink and blue cotton candy, pink and blue snow cones, pink and blue cup cakes and collected funds from pink and blue ‘Plinko’.

The Hamilton Unit of the Canadian Cancer Society was on site handing out pink and blue ribbons.

Through the combined efforts of the Students’ Athletics Committee, the Mohawk College Association of Continuing Education Students (MCACES), Mohawk Alumni, Mohawk Student Residence and Student Life, $977.75 was raised.

All proceeds go to support cancer Research.
