Grand Rapids, MI – The Hamilton Bulldogs defeated the Grand Rapids Griffins 2-1 on Friday night in Grand Rapids. Ryan White scored the game-winning goal in the third period while Curtis Sanford made 24 saves to lead the ‘Dogs to victory.
The Griffins opened the game’s scoring at 15:03 of the first frame. Adam Keefe received the puck at the left side boards before skating towards the net. Keefe flipped the puck over the right shoulder of Hamilton starting goaltender Curtis Sanford and into the top of the net.
The ‘Dogs tied the game 1-1 at 18:21 of the second stanza. Aaron Palushaj dished the puck to Ben Maxwell, who slapped a pass to the left side of the net, where Ryan Russell was stationed. Russell tapped the puck past Grand Rapids starting goaltender Jordan Pearce.
The ‘Dogs took a 2-1 lead at 14:35 of the final frame. J.T. Wyman fed the puck to Ryan White, who was skating down the right side. White rifled a shot that beat Pearce over the left shoulder.
The Bulldogs return to Copps Coliseum tomorrow for a 5:00 p.m. game against the Adirondack Phantoms. All regular season Hamilton Bulldogs broadcasts on AM 820 CHAM will begin with a pre-game show 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time.
