Mohawk’s Hong and Nazimuddin open strong at OCAA Badminton Champs

It was a good first day for the Mohawk men’s doubles team at the OCAA Badminton Championships in London.

Chris Hong and his partner Mohammed Nazimuddin posted a 3-1 record. They downed a team from Seneca 21-15, 25-11, rallied to defeat George Brown 16-21, 21-15, 21-17, lost to Centennial 21-23, 21-23, but beat Boreal 21-17, 21-19.

Hong and Nazimuddin have yet to meet the Humber pair of Mark Wong and Timothy Lam, who were 4-0 on opening day.

The Mountaineers will try to make amends for their three set defeat to the Hawk’s duo in the West Regional event at Mohawk two weeks ago.
