Bulldogs blanked by Barons in Game 3

Despite a 44-save effort from goalie Drew MacIntyre, the Hamilton Bulldogs dropped a 2-0 decision to the Oklahoma City Barons in American Hockey League playoff action on Tuesday (April 17).

Hamilton leads the best-of-seven North Division semi-final series 2-1. Game 4 in the Calder Cup playoffs is set for Wednesday (April 20) in Oklahoma City.

Martin Gerber earned 26 saves for the shutout.

After two scoreless periods, the Barons scored what would stand as the winner at 8:38 of the final frame. Brad Moran received the puck from Alexandre Giroux before rifling a shot on net. The puck bounced off the shoulder of MacIntyre before being whacked in by Colin McDonald.

Giroux added Oklahoma City’s second goal at 15:59. He picked up a loose puck before skating past a ‘Dogs defender and firing a shot that beat MacIntyre.

A crowd of 2,303 watched the game.
