Bulldogs re-acquire White from Canadiens

Centre Ryan White has been assigned to the Hamilton Bulldogs from the Montreal Canadiens. White was not will not be available for Thursday’s opening playoff game against the Manitoba Moose for the North Division championship.

White became available after the Canadiens were eliminated by the Boston Bruins from the National Hockey League’s playoffs.

White should be in the Hamilton lineup on Sunday when the Moose and Bulldogs play the second game of their best-of-seven American Hockey League series at 4 p.m. at Copps Coliseum.

White, 23, played in 27 games with the Canadiens in the regular season recording five points (two goals, three assists) along with a +5 rating and 38 penalty minutes. He also appeared in seven post-season games with Montreal but was held pointless. In 33 regular season games with the Bulldogs this season, the native of Brandon, Manitoba posted 12 points (three goals, nine assists) while serving 77 penalty minutes.

The 6-foot, 198-pound centre was selected in the third round, 66th overall by Montreal in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
