PeeWee Cards keep perfect record intact

The Hamilton Cardinals Tier 1 PeeWees jumped on the Red Sox early and coasted to 14-2 win in Brantford for their 14th straight Inter-County Baseball Association victory this season.

Hamilton leads the league with its unbeaten record.

The game was decided quickly as the Cardinals plated seven runs in the first three innings. An RBI double by Grant Amorim in the first inning and a two-run double by Brendan D’Agostino, a groundout by Matty Holman, and an RBI single by Mitchell Rossit in the second inning helped Hamilton put some runs on the board early.

D’Agostino racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Cardinals. Brandon Chong handled Brantford’s lineup with ease, racking up eight strikeouts. The Hamilton pitcher gave up just two hits over four shutout innings. Amorim, D’Agostino, Matthew Grabstas, Ethan Hammond-Srsan, Holman, Brendan Kelly-Ruetz, Anthony Marzanek, Owen Novoselec, and Rossit all collected hits for the Cardinals.

Amorim led the team with three hits and Grabstas and Hammond-Srsan chipped in with 2 RBI each.
