PeeWee Cardinals bounce back to tame Cubs

The Hamilton Cardinals Minor PeeWee team ran their record to 8-7 with their second win in as many nights, this time 7-6 over the visiting Cambridge Cubs. Starter Kole Bishop went 4 2/3, giving up five runs, two earned, with two strikeouts in the Inter-County Baseball Association contest.

Ayden Hannon pitched the final 2 1/3 giving up one unearned run and recorded the win. Cambridge took a 6-2 lead in the top of the fifth due to some sloppy defence, but the Cardinals came back with five of their own in the bottom of the inning to take the lead for good. Hannon shut down the Cubs the rest of the way.

Justin Jeffrey hit a bases-loaded double in the inning, driving in three runs which brought his RBI total for the day to four. He went two-for-three at the plate and scored a run. Dawson McLaughlin scored two runs and Michael Ssemanda, Nolan Gallo, David Candy and Hannon scored the other runs.
Sunderland took the loss for the Cubs, yielding four earned runs in the bottom of the fifth inning without recording an out. He went one-for-two at the plate with two runs-batted-in.
