Mosquito Cards handed only second loss in two years

A sizzling evening in Waterloo set the stage for a hotly contested rivalry between the Waterloo Tigers and the Hamilton Cardinals in Inter-County Baseball Association Tier 1 Mosquito play. And when the dust settled, Hamilton would lose only its second game in ICBA action in the past two seasons: Both to the Waterloo Tigers.

Ian Jordan would take the mound and go three innings, giving up four runs on four hits, walking four and striking out three. Jordan would give way to Jared Hill who also went three innings giving up three runs on eight hits and striking out two.

Hamilton allowed the Tigers to build a 6-2 lead going into the sixth inning before their bats would heat up. The Cardinals scored six unanswered runs to take an 8-6 lead into the bottom of the final inning but could not hang on for the win.

Sean Pettener was 2-for-3 with two RBI, Josh Tee was 2-for-3 with one RBI, Steven Lemay was 1-for-2 with one RBI and Sam Coons was 1-for-2 with two RBI.
