In the second game of a home-and-home series against the Royals the Hamilton Cardinals were hoping to continue where they left off in Guelph – a 13-1 Inter-County Baseball Association win. The Major Mosquito Cards came close – an 11-1 victory.
Hamilton jumped out in front 1-0 in the bottom of the first when lead off man Cameron McLeod scored via an Ian Jordan double.
The Royals would tie the game in the top of the fourth, but Hamilton would plate four more in the bottom of the inning.
Ian Jordan (3/4) and Ben Woodhouse (2/3) each had three RBI. Sean Pettener and Steven Lemay were both 2/3 and one RBI. Joel Wallace also had a good day at the plate going 3/4 in the ballgame.
Starting pitcher Ian Jordan tossed four complete innings, allowing only one run on four hits, striking out four and walking two.
Reliever Steven Lemay pitched a scoreless final two innings allowing three hits, striking out one and intentionally walking one.
