Cards dispatch Royals in PeeWee play

For the second time in nine days, the Hamilton Cardinals Minor PeeWees defeated the Guelph Tier 2 Royals, this time by a score of 14-5.

Ayden Hannon recorded the Inter-County Baseball Association win by going three innings, giving up four runs – three unearned. Reliever Nolan Gallo pitched two strong innings, recording two strikeouts while surrendering one unearned run.

Royals’ pitchers were wild in hitting three Cardinals batters and yielding 10 hits, including four doubles by Michael Ssemanda, Tyler Whalen, Noah Britt and Kole Bishop. Ssemanda was 2-for-2, and reached after being hit by a pitch. He scored three runs and drove in one. Whalen was also 2-for-2 and scored two runs, Britt was 2-for-3, reaching base the third time on an error, scoring two runs and driving in another. Jacob Underwood was 1-for-2, beating out an attempted double play and scoring two runs and recording an RBI.

The result left Hamilton with a 12-11 record and in fourth place.
