Wallace, Tee, Woodhouse tie up Giants

A trio of Hamilton Cardinals Major Mosquito pitchers almost single-handedly – or more precisely, three-handedly – handcuffed the Simcoe Giants in Inter-County Baseball Association play.

Cardinals starting pitcher Joel Wallace and relievers Josh Tee and Ben Woodhouse combined for a three-hitter in toppling the Giants 16-5 on Thursday (Aug. 11). Wallace held the Giants hitless in his three innings of work which one walk and one strikeout.

Tee picked up where Wallace left off, continuing the no hitter for the fourth inning while walking two. Closer Woodhouse finished the contest, giving up three hits and issuing three walks.

Offensively the Cardinals were led by Woodhouse who had a 3-for-3 performance that produced five runs-batted-in. Tee was 2-for-2 with four RBI while Wallace and George Tsiflikiotis each had two RBI. Sean Pettener and Cameron McLeod each had one RBI.

The win improved the first-place Cardinals record to 21-2 on the season.
