Redfearn places 10th to lead Mohawk at OCAA Cross Country finale

Jon Redfearn finished in 10th place in a field of 86 to lead Mohawk at the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association Cross Country Championships at Fort Henry in Kingston on Saturday (Oct. 29).

Redfearn was timed in 27:32.9 and led his team to a 4th place finish in the men’s team event, which included 14 teams.

The eight kilometre race was won by Sean Sweeney of George Brown in 25:34.6.

Mohawk’s Brittany Russell was 31st in the women’s 5K event. She was clocked in 22:30.1. Mohawk’s other women’s entry, Sarah Bush, was 54th in 25:30.1.

The women’s winner was Vicky Siemon of Humber in 18:06.3. Humber also took the women’s team title.
