Mountaineers chased down by Lions in OT

Mohawk Mountaineers dropped a 73-69 overtime decision to the Lambton Lions in Ontario Colleges Athletic Association women’s basketball on Wednesday (Jan. 18).

Rookie Taylor Shaw forced the overtime session with a pair of clutch 3-point buckets with the Lions holding a six-point lead with time running.

The teams carried identical 5-5 records going into the West Region tilt.

Shaw led Mohawk with 14 points, Rachelle Abella and Lindsay Bokor had 10 each and Cynthia Mosca added nine for the Mountaineers, now in sixth place.

Courtney Lundy led all scorers with 17 points for Lambton who moved into the fifth spot.

Mohawk visits 7-2 Sheridan on Saturday.
