Three Marauders swimmers each captured a pair of Gold medals in a dual swim meet with the Ottawa Gee-Gees at McMaster University.
Sarah Taylor, Michael MacDonald, and Cameron Bailey led the McMaster Gold parade which included individual wins from Lynnaea Mulligan, Mostafa Ghoneim, Konrad Bald, Matthew Vogelzang, and Ben Stubbs.
Taylor earned her first Gold medal in the 50 metre freestyle with a time of 25.89 and the second was for the 50m fly with a time of 27.87. Mulligan’s first place finish for the women’s team came in the 200m fly with a time of 2:26.23.
Other notable finishes for the women’s team included Meg Sloan’s second place in the 100m free, Alexandra VanOmmen’s Silver in the 50 breast, and Erin MacFadyen’s second place finish in the 200m breast. Taylor took second place in the 200m IM as well.
MacDonald and the men’s team found Gold in the 100m free with a time of 52.02 and the 200m free at 1:54.43.
Ghoneim finished first in the 50m back with a time of 32.94 and Bald finished the 50m breast with a time of 29.23 for first in that race. Bailey’s double Gold efforts came in the 200m breast in 2:50.76, and the 200m IM at 2:05.41.
Stubbs took home Gold in the 200m fly with a time of 2:03.75 and Vogelzang finished first in the 50m fly at 25.44.
Finishing second for the men were Jeff Braches in the 50m free, MacDonald in the 400m free, and Ian Blechta in the 50m breast. Stubbs finished with Silver in the 50m back as well as the 200m back and Bald took home Silver in the 200m breast. In the 200m IM, Bald also finished second behind teammate Bailey.
The Marauders will take part in a Quad Meet at the end of the month and will compete at the OUA Championships on Feb. 8.
