Stars darkened by White-out

Nathan Lawson made 39 saves and Ryan White provided all the offence in carrying the Hamilton Bulldogs to a 2-0 shutout victory over the Texas Stars in American Hockey League play.

The first period was a high-shooting but scoreless affair, with the Stars edging their hosts at Copps Coliseum, 15-14, on Sunday (Feb. 12). White scored what would stand as the game winner at the midway mark of the second period. With 12 seconds left in the period, White again beat Tyler Beskorowany for the insurance counter.

The Bulldogs tested Beskorowany 27 times in the game. Lawson earned the ’Dogs fourth shutout of the season.
