Bulldogs nail down defenceman

Defenceman Olivier Dame-Malka has been recalled from the East Coast Hockey League’s Wheeling Nailers by the Hamilton Bulldogs.

Malka, 21, played in nine games with the American Hockey League’s Bulldogs this season, posting one assist and 12 shots on goal. The 5-foot-10, 192-pound defenceman made his professional debut with the Bulldogs in the team’s 5-2 season-opening victory over the Rochester Americans on Saturday, Oct. 8.

In 36 games for the Wheeling Nailers this season, the native of Montreal, Quebec has registered 18 points (7 goals, 11 assists), 110 shots on goal, and 60 penalty minutes.

The Bulldogs next take to the ice for “Pink in the Rink” on Friday, March when they face the Toronto Marlies at 7:30 p.m. at Copps Coliseum.
