The regular playing season ended on a perfect note for the Transway Atom Girls basketball team, as they maintained their number one provincial ranking and finished undefeated with a 23-0 record.

They recently celebrated a gold medal win at their final tournament, playing the strongest teams from across Ontario, including opponents from Chatham, York, Scarborough, Hamilton, and Dundas. All of these teams provided a solid level of competition but the Transway girls battled hard, sometimes rallying from behind to defeat their opponents in each of their preliminary games, and ultimately the gold medal championship game.

The Transway Atom girls will go to provincials seeded as the number one team, and look to defend their Division One (AAA) provincial title this month in Brantford. Players represent the following area communities: Ancaster, Dundas, Hamilton, Stoney Creek, and Burlington. The team would like to acknowledge the generous support of their sponsors including, Starburst Dancewear and TD Bank.
