MVC U15 climb mountain to OVA Tier 2 silver

The Mountain Volley Club’s 15-Under girls team had a mountain to climb and they did. The 25th ranked club in the province took the Tier 2 Silver medal at the recent Ontario Volleyball Association’s 15U Provincial Championships held in Waterloo.

In pool play, MVC defeated the Ottawa Maverick Colts, 25-9, 16-25, 15-12; the Barrie Elites Black, 25-18, 25-18; before losing to Interclub Black of North York, 18-25, 25-23, 7-15, and the Woodstock Warriors, 19-25, 17-25.

In the power pools, MVC lost to the Ottawa Maverick Stampede, 25-19, 22 25, 9-15, but defeated the Ottawa Fusion, 25-18, 22-25, 25-19.

In the quarter finals, MVC defeated the Cambridge Scorpions, 20-25, 25-21, 15-9, and the North Bay Wildcats, 25-20, 23-25, 15-12 in the semi-finals.

Rematched against the Ottawa Maverick Stampede in the championship match, MVC lost, 17-25, 19-25 to settle for the Silver medal.
