The McMaster Marauders women’s lacrosse team improved its record to 2-1 with an 11-2 win over the visiting Brock Badgers on Wednesday (Sept. 19) at Alumni Field in front of an appreciative packed crowd.
The Marauders dominated from the beginning of the game with a solid offensive effort supported by an equally impressive defensively display.
Goalie Christine McCauley (Orillia) was a major factor for McMaster in the victory.
Multiple goal scorers for Mac included Kyra Reilly (Grimsby) with four, and Lindsay Hamilton (Mississauga) with two. Scoring singles for the Marauders were Jackie Heaton (Peterborough), Julie Marquardt (Whitby), Stephanie Ball (Brampton), Sarah Hampel (Burlington), and Sarah Rae.
This weekend the team will play three games in Kingston. McMaster will play the Badgers again, and will have a double header versus the Laurier Golden Hawks.
In the season opening twin bill on Sept.15, the Marauders lost to the Western Mustangs, 11-6, but redeemed themselves with a big win over the Toronto Varsity Blues, 9-6, later in the day.
