The Marauders took the match by set scores of 25-16, 25-19, and 25-20. McMaster was No. 4 in the first Canadian Interuniversity Sport top-10 rankings released earlier in the week.

Mac setter Austin Campion-Smith did a great job of spreading the ball around and making it tough on York to defend, finishing with 36 assists for the match.

Freshman middle Dany Demyanenko had 10 kills to lead the Marauders, while Kevin Stevens, Jori Mantha and Alex Elliot all finished with eight kills, showing a balanced attack for Mac. Stevens also chipped in with two service aces.

The Marauders take on their arch-rivals from Queen’s in their next match on Friday (Oct. 26) at home. The match is set to start at 7 p.m. in the Burridge Gym.
