The Hamilton Huskies Major Peewee AAA team has been selected to attend the prestigious Quebec International Hockey Tournament in Quebec City.
The 17-member team of 12-year-old boys have been working very hard year-round, on and off the ice. The result of that hard work and dedication, is a No. 4 provincial ranking in Ontario.
The Quebec tournament features Elite Division teams drawn from the top ranked teams from around the world. More than 200 teams register for a chance to compete, and only 50 teams have been chosen to attend. Being part of the 11-day tournament (Feb. 8-19) will certainly be an experience of a lifetime for these boys.
During the tournament, the boys will play games in front of crowds exceeding 10,000 spectators; they will be asked for autographs; the games will be streamed live online; and some games will be televised on TSN.
Last year’s attendance at this event surpassed 230,000.
Some of hockey’s greatest players including Brad Park, Guy Lafleur, Wayne Gretzky, brothers Mark and Marty Howe, Mario Lemieux, Patrick Roy, Steven Stamkos and many more — 1,100 NHLers — have participated at this event.
The Huskies Major Peewee AAA team is proud and excited to represent Hamilton.
