McMaster Names Steve Alfano the 2008 High School Football Achievement Award Winner Steve Alfano is the winner of the third annual McMaster High School Football Achievement Award. Alfano was chosen from a group of nominees from schools in the Halton/Hamilton-Wentworth/Niagara and Haldimand school boards.

Sharp Golden Horseshoe Athlete of the Year Hamilton professional golfer Alena Sharp has been named the Golden Horseshoe Athlete of the year for 2007. Sharp beat out boxer Jacqui Park of Hamilton and canoeist Mark Oldershaw of Burlington to capture the Bill Sturrup Trophy.
